ECO BOYS AND GIRLS in partnership with SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT SOLUTIONS NETWORK-YOUTH have teamed up with the ASSOCIATION OF CHILDREN’S MUSEUMS (ACM) to launch ECO BOYS AND GIRLS & SDGs Program.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS & SDGs Program through ACM will inform and invite children's museums, leaders, and educators to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals.

 

ASSOCIATION OF CHILDREN’S MUSEUMS (ACM) is an international member service organization serving more than 300 children’s museums that serve more than 31 million children and families globally. ACM’s vision is to ensure all children and families have access to a high-quality children’s museum experiences. Children’s museums believe that all children have the right to play in environments designed for and by them.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS OFFICIAL PARTNERS IN #KNOWYOURGOALS SDSN-Y CAMPAIGN

Eco Boys and Girls are official partners with SNSD-Y in the #KnowYourGoals Campaign, an initiative of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network-Youth.

The #KnowYourGoals Campaign calls on all individuals, in particular youth, that have a right to know about the SDGs and how they affect their lives, communities, and the future of the planet.

Eco Boys and Girls is proud to join in partnership with SDSN-Y, Oikos International, Project Everyone, Action/2015 and The World’s Largest Lesson.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS & THE UNITED NATIONS SDGS BOOK PARTNER WITH SDSN-Y

Sustainable Development Solutions Network-Youth partners with Eco Boys and Girls on their book promoting the 17 landmark Sustainable Development Goals.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS &THE UNITED NATIONS SDGs book will educate the younger generation of children about the global landmark SDGs, that are being adopted by the United Nations, and are in effect from 2015 through 2030.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS & THE UNITED NATIONS SDGs book engages the 5 Eco Boys and Girls animated characters: Ernie Earth, Lulu Love, Patsy Peace, Ray Recycle and Sammy Sun, to entertain young children, as well as educate them around these 17 goals.

SDSN-Y (Sustainable Development Solutions Network-Youth) is an initiative of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). Through education and global cooperation, SDSN-Y encourages young people to prioritize the Sustainable Development Goals by creating a global platform to advocate for change and empowering youth to create sustainable solutions.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS SUPPORT PEACE AND MAKING EVERY DAY EARTH DAY

On Earth Day, the ECO BOYS AND GIRLS were invited by the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Mr. Ahmad Alhendawi to an event on “The Role of Young People in Countering Violent Extremism and Promoting Peace.”

Organised by the Permanent Missions of Sweden, Malaysia and Jordan, as well as IANYD Working Group on Youth and Peacebuilding and the United Network of Young Peacebuilders.

Subjects focused on “young people’s positive contribution to peace and how they can play an active and valuable role as agents of positive and constructive change.” Presentation of the findings of the report by UNOY Peacebuilders on Agreed UN Language on Youth, Peace and Security and of the Guiding Principles on Young People’s Participation in Peacebuilding.

National Wildlife Federation's Wildlife Promise headlines Eco Boys and Girls Inspire Kids to Live and Play Sustainably: 

"Maria Snyder debuted her characters, the Eco Boys and Girls at the Liberty Science Center. Snyder, an activist, artist and model, developed Ernie Earth, Lulu Love, Patsy Peace, Ray Recycle and Sammy Sun because she wanted to use her art background to motivate positive change. Seeing the response to the characters at the Liberty Center and elsewhere, Snyder created the series of children’s titles starring the Eco Boys and Girls."

Snyder says "Children today seem to be aware the water is dirty, the air is polluted and the animals are in peril. They are learning that our planet is in crisis and they want to help – to take care of the animals, to take care of each other and our earth."

Wildlife Promise is an online extension of the NWF’s commitment to protect and restore wildlife habitat, confront global warming and connect people with nature.  

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS BOOKS REVIEWED AT NATIONAL WILDLIFE FEDERATION

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS BOOKS, a series of 6 books focusing on STEM and environmental education is reviewed at the National Wildlife Federation. 

The ECO BOYS AND GIRLS book series is recommended for Pre K to 3^rd Graders by the NWF. The series focuses on messages of sustainability and interconnectedness for young children to inspire a better world for all.

The NWF states: "The greatest challenge in providing education for young children is how to have an artful balance of informative lessons and entertaining pictures and stories that capture a child’s mind and heart.  The new Eco Boys and Girls book series by artist, eco-entrepreneur and author, Maria Snyder accomplishes this blend beautifully.  The series is especially captivating because it was developed for an age group that is often overlooked in environmental education – the very young."

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS BOOKS were unveiled at the NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION'S Representative Assembly 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia, the nation's largest teacher and educators organization committed to advancing the cause of public education.

The newly created 6 volume children’s book series focusing on environmental education was greeted by long lines at the Georgia World's Congress Center.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS BOOKS mission is to engage youth and families to be aware of, involved with and connected to each other and the earth and to empower them to take ownership of our planet, learn about the environment and explore creative new ways to live in harmony.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS FEATURED AT BROOKLYN CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

BROOKLYN CHILDREN’S MUSEUM welcomed ECO BOYS AND GIRLS to one of New York’s first green museums.

The 5 characters were introduced with a short animated film, then a reading from the first book of the 6 volume book series, MEET THE ECO BOYS AND GIRLS. Interactive activities were featured and engaged children to “Take Action” and take care of the environment and each other.

Each of the ECO BOYS AND GIRLS characters have their own mission: Ernie Earth preserves the natural world and its ecosystem; Lulu Love demonstrates the importance of loving herself, others and all things; Patsy Peace solves conflicts so that humans, animals and things can exist in peaceful ways; Ray Recycle shows people ways to reuse, reduce and recycle, and Sammy Sun spreads the word about conservation and protecting natural resources.

Brooklyn Children's Museum was founded in 1899. A pioneer in education, it Is considered the first museum in the United States to cater specifically to children. In 2008, it became the first green museum in New York City.

THE NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION’S READ ACROSS AMERICA WITH THE LORAX AND ECO BOYS AND GIRLS CELEBRATE THE EARTH

The National Education Association’s READ ACROSS AMERICA promotes “STUDENT EARTH DAY” with a reading from Dr. Seuss’s LORAX and a reading from Maria Snyder’s ECO BOYS AND GIRLS BOOKS.

The McCormick Elementary School in Baltimore, Maryland hosted the official event and greetings were from the Maryland State Education Association and National Education Association President Dennis Van Roekel. Principal Lindsay led students in an Earth Day Pledge and thanked special guest Maria Snyder announcing a donation of the book sets for each classroom.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS SAY “MAKE EVERY DAY EARTH DAY” FOR EARTH MONTH IN UNION STATION, WASHINGTON, DC

Vincent C. Gray, Mayor of Washington D.C. proclaimed April as Earth Month, and set in motion events in Union Station and its Sustainability Partner, Earth Day Network, to host an expanded slate of events to celebrate Earth Day 2013.

Eco Boys and Girls were invited guest speakers at Union Station in the East Hall. Eco Boys and Girls presented their campaign slogan “MAKE EVERY DAY EARTH DAY”!

Other guest speakers from these organizations spoke: NASA, Young Voices for the Planet, Solar City, Atlas Recycled, UN Foundation, Millennium Challenge, etc.

 

MARIA SNYDER’S ECOBRANDS “WE CREATE THE WORLD WE LIVE IN” CELEBRATE EARTH MONTH

ECOBRANDS® Posters are an exclusive collection of posters created by model and eco-activist Maria Snyder. Printed on eco-friendly papers, Maria’s iconography and art for “WE CREATE THE WORLD WE LIVE IN” was first created when she was an art student and later first exhibited in the early 1990’s at the Henri Bendel store on Fifth Avenue, New York.

Maria Snyder is considered a pioneer in the eco-fashion movement. In the 90’s Felissimo stores announced Maria Snyder as one of the first designers in the world to create an eco-fashion apparel and home collection made exclusively from fibers from recycled bottles.

The National Education Association CELEBRATES THE EARTH with the Eco Boys and Girls Curriculum Guide 2013 working to make every day Earth Day for children and students—schools and communities—across the country.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS  characters, created by Maria Snyder, are 5 animated characters that young children who are in Pre K to Grade 3 can view as friends. They teach them the value of respecting their environment by protecting natural resources and conservation and respecting the people and other living things who inhabit the earth.

Creator, Maria Snyder explains the reasons why she undertook this endeavor, “I created these Eco Characters to give youth today “Eco-Heroes” to believe in, to have fun with and learn from. MARIA SNYDER'S “OUR HEARTS UNITED HEAL THE WORLD” AND ONE MILLION HEARTS CAMPAIGN FOR HAITI

Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Foundation and CFDA rallied the global design community together for “Fashion for Haiti: One Million Hearts.”

Maria Snyder and other top members from the Council of Fashion Designers of America have designed one-of-a-kind hearts transformed into truly inspired works of art. The hearts will be auctioned off on eBay.

Maria's art and slogan "OUR HEARTS UNITED HEAL THE WORLD" are intergral foundations to her brands, ECO BOYS AND GIRLS, ECOBRANDS and PEACEARTH.

The Urban Zen Foundatiion creates, connects and collaborates to raise awareness and inspire change in the areas of well-being, preserving cultures and empowering children in mind, body and spirit. Urban Zen designs forums, partners with existing organizations and brings together experts to define solutions and implement action.

CFDA, The Council of Fashion Designers of America is an association consisting of more than 400 of America’s foremost womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessory designers.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS CELEBRATE WORLD WATER DAY

Eco Boys and Girls  and correspondent Sarah Dayringer celebrate World Water Day with a question “What are you doing to prevent climate change?” Youth around the world attending the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Doha, Qatar, were asked this question and a video montage was created.

The International Year of Water Cooperation is guided by the slogan - “water, water everywhere, only if we share”.

World Water Day is held yearly on 22 March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocation for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. Each year, World Water Day highlights a specific aspect of freshwater.

Sarah Dayringer is a highly accomplished consultant on various topics concerning climate change policy, children and youth and has participated in global sustainable development agendas around the world. Some of her notable achievements are work with SustainUS, United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, United Nations Environmental Program’s TUNZA, Steering committee and lead in organizing the drafting of the Bandung Declaration.
