OFFICE OF THE UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY celebrated INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY in cooperation with UNESCO, THE FRENCH CONSULATE,
UN WOMEN FOR PEACE.
Featured speakers are MARIA SNYDER and her eco-friendly brand, ECO BOYS AND GIRLS, as well as DR. JEFFREY SACHS, Director of the Earth Institute, COLIN COWIE, Lifestyle Expert, DAYLE HADDON, UNICEF Ambassador and Founder WomenOne, CECELIA RODHE, a Miss Sweden and Founder Noah’s Arc Foundation and H.E. Mr.
Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, President of the General Assembly,
plus
other luminaries and speakers from the Harlem Academy, Infinite Family and National Education Association.
INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY reminds the
international community of the status of literacy and focuses global attention
on literacy needs and issues.
ECO BOYS AND GIRLS are five delightful
characters whose mission is to engage youth and families
everywhere to be aware of, involved with and connected to each other and the
earth and to empower them to take ownership of our planet, learn about the
environment and explore creative new ways to live in harmony.
