ECO BOYS AND GIRLS joined youth around the world to make a difference and share in vision at the Conference of Youth, COY8
and the Conference of Parties, COP18 for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, UNFCCC in Doha, Qatar.
Eco Boys and Girls youth correspondent Sarah Dayringer led a workshop “Eco
Boys and Girls “Take Action” for the environment and promoted the Millennium
Development Goals” at COY8 on November
25, 2012 and participated and joined in with the Earth Child Institute, where
EBAG exhibited their Public Service Announcements as well as discussed their
role and efforts toward environmental education at COP18.
Earth Child Institute's mission is to
engage with and empower children and young people today who comprise close to
half the global population toward a sustainable tomorrow. ECI
believes that children and young people who are empowered with the knowledge of
the interconnectedness of all living things as well as their own ability to
think and act in harmony, will grow up leading lives that benefit themselves
and the environment.
The Conference of Youth, COY8, November
23 to 25, 2012 brought international youth together to learn about the UNFCCC, build networks and work on climate justice issues worldwide. COY8 is united in
vision for a safe and sustainable world and builds the youth climate movement
from the grassroots up.
The United Nations Framework Convention Climate Change, UNFCCC, November 26 to December 7 is an international
environmental treaty whose objective is to stabilize greenhouse gas
concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous
anthropogenic interference with the climate system.
