On International Day of Peace, September 21,
2012, MARIA SNYDER’S PEACEARTH® PROJECTS MINI MEDITATION FILMS was featured at THE GLOBAL PEACE FILM FESTIVAL as well as part of it’s first global online festival.
PEACEARTH® PROJECTS MINI MEDITATION FILMS is an introduction to a series of 3 films, 3 minutes each that engage the viewer through images, words and references of Peace. PEACEARTH® highlights Peace through the arts, messaging and social media to promote and raise public awareness about the need for and importance of Peace on Earth. Maria Snyder visually engages all people around the globe irrespective of their age, race or religion to partake with her in a journey to change this world by choosing peace. At an American Public Health Association’s conference Maria Snyder's Art was described “as an emerging body of work that spans graphic, advertising, and fine arts in techniques and media, while illuminating the challenges of bringing images and ideas about Peace into the modern mainstream, after decades of marginalization”.
GLOBAL PEACE FILM FESTIVAL was established to utilize the power of the motion picture to further
the goal of peace on earth. GPFF presents films from around the world and
global discussions that highlight the power of this extraordinary medium as it
relates to new peace issues.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE 2012 provides an
opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on
a shared date, September 21. It was established by a United Nations resolution
in 1981.
